2022|52 min|Documentary, Biography
THE STORY
Long labeled “Bloody Mary,” Mary I of England has been defined by the hostile image shaped by her sister, Elizabeth I of England. Their rivalry reshaped how history remembers them, overshadowing Mary’s real achievements. This story revisits her reign, highlighting key reforms, including efforts to strengthen England’s navy, which later supported its rise as a major sea power. Many of these successes were later credited to Elizabeth, distorting the legacy of both queens.
